After attending all UIR lessons, I do feel that I learnt more knowledge about internet. Previously, I found that it was very difficult to look for relevant information on internet. The only one search engine which I know is Google. If Google does not able to find out what I want to research, I would headache and stuck in trouble. However, through studying the subject of UIR, I found that except the most familiar search engines like Google and Yahoo, I could also get information from Meta-search engines like Ixquick or subject directory likes Galaxy. Furthermore, I think that the Meta-search engine is very interesting. When I use Ixquick to do my research, I am actually searching many popular search engines at the same time. Therefore, more information can be obtained within the time.

The lessons of evaluating internet resource also allow me to learn how to evaluate a resource based on nine evaluation criteria which are purpose, coverage, authority, accuracy, currency, accessibility, presentation and arrangement, usability and Overall Quality. It is useful as it allow me to know whether the resource is relevant or suitable for my project or not.

Overall, I think that UIR is an interesting and useful CDS. The workload of it is manageable.
