PartA--About Myself

Firstly, I want to introduce myself. My name is Chen Jie Hua. I am a Chinese from Guangdong, China. I have been studied in Singapore for almost four years. I am taking the diploma of Financial Business Informatics in Temasek Polytechnic Informatics and IT School. My hobbies are watching movies, listening to music, and playing badminton.

My favourite links are Baidu and YouTube. This is because form Baidu I can download free new songs, and YouTube is a popular entertainment website to watch free movie, music video, etc.

Part B -- Practical Reflection

After my UIR blog was created, another thing that I needed to do was to learn how to identify the categories of Internet resources. There are four types of Internet resources which are newsgroups and discussion list, electronic journal and magazine, multi-media source and WWW site.Some examples that I had been found of the resources are listed below.

1. Newsgroups and discussion list: http://www.edwebproject.org/lists.html

Resource Description: It is a collection of education-focused discussion groupsThe focus of this list will be general education, K-12 education, and education technology and education reform.

2. Electronic journals and magazine: http://pubs.acs.org/about.html

Resource Description: This link is created by American Chemical Society which is the leading publisher of peer-reviewed research journals in the chemical and related sciences.

3. Multi-media source: http://www.nseries.com/index.html?CMP=KNC-googlen810sg#l=products,n810

Resource Description: Graphics and multi-media are used to illustrate Nokia handphones, to supplement textual materials.It contains images, video clips of good communication and sound clips of different Nokia handphones.

4. WWW site : http://www.hp.com/

Resource Description: This is an organizational www site which contains all the information about HP company.

Similarities
All websites allow user to retrieve information from them. Useful information may be found out within them.

Differences
Types of resources are different. Some of them are subject - based while some are organizational.Purposes of resource are different. Some of them are showing information which some are expressing personal view of opinion.
